These terms outline the agreement between L&V Solution (“the Contractor”) and you (“the Customer”). They define rights, obligations, and responsibilities for both parties. Please review Clauses 9, 11, and 12 carefully, as they describe our liability for loss and damage to your goods and premises.
Interpretation 1.1 References to “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to L&V Solution. References to “you” refer to the Customer. 1.2 “Insurance Option” refers to the coverage outlined in Clause 9A. 1.3 “Goods” are the items being removed and/or stored.
Quotations 2.1 Quotations include VAT but exclude customs duties, levies, or fees, which are payable by you. 2.2 We reserve the right to adjust our quoted price if:
The work is not completed within three months due to external factors.
Costs increase due to currency fluctuations, taxation, or freight charges.
Collection or delivery involves locations above the first upper floor.
Additional services are requested.
Delays occur outside our reasonable control.
Access to collection/delivery points is inadequate.
We incur additional parking or other fees. 2.3 Insurance Option applies only if stated in the quotation. 2.4 A quotation does not guarantee vehicle availability until confirmed in writing. 2.5 If requested, we may adjust our liability limit before work commences. 2.6 Inadequate access requiring structural alterations or special equipment will incur additional costs.
Work Excluded from Quotations Unless agreed in writing, we will not: 3.1 Dismantle or assemble furniture, fittings, or fitments. 3.2 Disconnect or reconnect appliances. 3.3 Remove or lay floor coverings. 3.4 Handle curtains, blinds, or window coverings. 3.5 Move night storage heaters unless dismantled. 3.6 Move any item deemed unsafe for transport. 3.7 Clear driveways of snow, ice, or other obstructions.
Excluded Property 4.1 We will not transport:
Jewelry, watches, precious stones, money, securities, stamps, or similar valuables.
Hazardous, explosive, or dangerous items.
Items likely to cause infestation or contamination.
Refrigerated or frozen food or drink.
Animals, pets, or their enclosures.
Cars, boats, or caravans.
Furs, perfumes, alcohol, tobacco, or perishable goods. 4.2 Items packed by the owner that show no external damage are not covered for breakage. 4.3 Unapproved prohibited items may be disposed of without notice.
Customer Responsibilities You must: 5.1 Declare the correct value of the Goods. 5.2 Obtain all necessary documents at your expense. 5.3 Ensure presence at both collection and delivery points. 5.4 Prepare appliances properly for transport. 5.5 Cover any parking or meter suspension costs. 5.6 Defrost refrigerators/freezers before transport and wait 24 hours before switching them on after delivery. 5.7 Provide updated contact details. 5.8 Properly pack items if self-packing, as they are not covered by our insurance. 5.9 Assume responsibility for losses or damages arising from failure to meet these obligations.
Ownership of Goods 6.1 You confirm that you own or have authority over the Goods. 6.2 You will be liable for any claims or costs if this declaration is untrue.
Postponements/Cancellations 7.1 If you cancel or postpone, charges apply:
More than 7 days’ notice: No charge.
Less than 7 days’ notice: 50% of the removal charge.
On the day of removal or after work starts: 100% of the charge. 7.2 If you opt for a postponement/cancellation protection waiver, Clause 7.1 does not apply.
Payment Terms 8.1 Payment must be made in full before removal unless otherwise agreed in writing. 8.2 Late payments incur a 2% monthly interest charge. 8.3 Failure to pay before the removal date may result in cancellation of services and loss of insurance coverage.
Our Liability for Loss or Damage 9.1 If we lose or damage your Goods, we will compensate up to £50 per item. 9.2 We may choose to repair or replace damaged items instead of providing financial compensation. 9.3 We are not liable for loss or damage caused by:
Fire, war, civil unrest, terrorism, or industrial action.
Normal wear and tear, leakage, or deterioration.
Cleaning, repairing, or restoring services not performed by us.
Vermin, moths, or infestations.
Electrical or mechanical derangement unless due to external impact. 9.4 We are not responsible for:
Items packed in wardrobes, drawers, appliances, or containers not packed by us.
Valuables unless declared and accepted by us in writing.
